How Do You Make S’mores Snack Mix?
This S’mores Snack Mix is like the chocolatey, marshmallow filled version of a sweet and salty chex mix. The recipe includes:
- Golden Grams cereal – for that classic gram cracker taste
- Mini marshmallows – because no s’more is complete without soft, chewy marshmallows
- A few mini M&Ms – for an extra chocolatey treat
- Pretzel sticks – for that salty crunch that keeps you coming back
- Melted chocolate – everything is coated in a drizzle of semi sweet chocolate, PLUS some extra white chocolate – because life is too short not too add a little more chocolate
This S’mores Snack Mix recipe is super easy to make! All you need is a couple of minutes, a microwave, a couple of bowls, and a big sheet pan or two. You can even have the kids help make it!
To make the recipe, I like to start by lining two baking sheets with parchment paper (this prevents the chocolate from sticking and makes clean up easier). Then spread out an even, layer of Golden Grams cereal. Top this with a layer of pretzels, marshmallows, and the mini M&Ms. Next, I like to give the sheet pans a gentle shake to mix everything up just a bit and help it settle into a nice even layer. You want to try to spread everything out evenly so that the chocolate drizzle gets on a little of everything.
Then melt your semi sweet chocolate and white chocolate in separate bowls and mix with a little bit of coconut oil. This helps loosen up the chocolate a little so it drizzles easier. Drizzle the semi sweet chocolate over everything. Next, I like to pop the sheet pans in the fridge or freezer for a couple of minutes here before drizzling the white chocolate so that the two don’t melt together, but this is optional. Finally, drizzle with melted white chocolate as well. Tap each tray on the counter a couple of times, to make sure the chocolate sinks into the layers and really coats the mixture. Then let cool and harden. When chocolate is set, gently break apart and transfer to a big bowl or serving dish.
I like to store this in the fridge or freezer and serve cold – because we love our chocolate chilled, but you can also store/serve at room temp.
What Else Can I Add to This S’mores Chocolate Drizzled Snack Mix?
If you are feeling creative feel free to customize and mix up this S’mores Snack Mix recipe to your tastes. Some great options include:
- Add some peanut butter flavor by swapping out the mini M&Ms for peanut butter M&Ms, Reese’s Pieces, or even mini Reese’s peanut butter cups.
- Swap the pretzel sticks for your favorite shape or even try peanut butter filled pretzels.
- Mix up the chocolate to fit your taste. You can try substituting dark chocolate for the semi sweet or swap the white chocolate for some peanut butter or butterscotch chips.
- Add extra marshmallows or swap in some freeze dried marshmallows (like in Luck Charms).
- Add some nuts such as peanuts, almonds, pistachios, pecans, or cashews.

S'mores Snack Mix
Ingredients
- 5 cups Golden Grams cereal
- 4 cups pretzel sticks
- 2 cups mini marshmallows
- 1 cup mini M&Ms
- 10 oz semi sweet chocolate chips (about 1 1/2 cups)
- 5 oz white chocolate or vanilla almond bark
- 1 tbsp + 1 tsp coconut oil (divided)
Instructions
- Line two baking sheets with parchment paper.
- Spread a layer of Golden Grams cereal evenly divided between two sheet pans. Top with a layer of pretzels, marshmallows, and mini M&Ms. Give the sheet pans a gentle shake to mix everything up just a bit and help it settle into a nice even layer.
- Melt your semi sweet chocolate and white chocolate in separate bowls in the microwave. Mix 1 tbsp coconut oil in the semi sweet chocolate and 1 tsp coconut oil in white chocolate.
- Drizzle the semi sweet chocolate over both sheets. If desired, place the sheet pans in the fridge for a couple of minutes to allow the chocolate to start to set up. This helps keep both chocolates from melting into one.
- Drizzle both sheet pans evenly with melted white chocolate as well.
- Tap each tray on the counter a couple of times, to make sure the chocolate sinks into the layers to coat the mixture. Then let cool and harden.
- When chocolate is set, gently break apart and transfer to a big bowl or serving dish.
