About Namaste Home Cooking: Healthy & Delicious Recipes

I’m Emily! I live in St. Charles, Missouri with my boyfriend, Steve, and our playful papillon puppy, Basil. There are two things that I turn to everyday to ground and center me, and those are cooking and yoga.

Life is all about balance. I aim to create recipes that help you feel good and find balance between health and flavor. On my cooking blog, you will find a wide range of recipes from healthy meals to those loaded with meat, carbs, and cheese (bring on ALL of the cheese!). Because we all need a little variety and balance in our diet, right? My recipes include a blend of healthy recipes, packed with fresh veggies and other wholesome nutrients, as well as delicious comfort foods bursting with bold flavors.

My approach to healthy cooking includes incorporating healthy veggies and fresh ingredients with easy shortcuts to create vibrant, flavorful meals your whole family will love. My recipes try to avoid overly processed ingredients, showing you how to make healthier twists on your favorite recipes. From healthy lunch recipes to quick weeknight dinners and even savory appetizers and meals perfect for company, good food should make you feel good.

As a project manager for a small, boutique website design firm, during the day, you will find me sitting at my computer replying to emails, following up with clients, and keeping projects on track (often while day dreaming about whatever delicious dinner inspiration and recipes I have planned for the evening). And after a long day at the computer, I can’t wait to decompress with a little me time. A quick yoga practice helps me wash off the day and inspires me to find my creativity in the kitchen.

I believe that good food brings people together, nourishing both body and spirit. Cooking is my love language. I am never happier than when I am cooking for family and friends. Whether it is preparing a big meal on the weekend for friends or family, or cooking a quick weeknight dinner for just me and Steve, in the kitchen is my happy place.
