It’s not even officially fall yet, but I have been playing with lots of fall flavors in my kitchen lately, and I am loving it! Apples, pumpkin, and all kinds of warming spices like cinnamon and nutmeg not only taste and smell delicious, but are giving me super cozy vibes. I am ready for fall sweater weather, bonfires, and so many Pumpkin Spice Chai Lattes.

This Healthy Apple Pie Smoothie brings all of the flavors of classic apple pie. It is the perfect combination of sweet apples and bananas, creamy greek yogurt, warming spices, and hearty oats. Plus, it gets an extra protein punch from some chia seeds and a scoop of protein powder, making this a super filling breakfast or snack to fill you up and power you through the day.

How Do You Make This Healthy Protein Apple Pie Smoothie?

I make a lot of healthy smoothies. They are may favorite way to sneak in some extra fruits and veggies into our breakfast or make a quick healthy snack. And while I may not be a smoothie expert, I have definitely come to discover some key tips and ingredients that make for the best healthy smoothies.

One of my most important goals is being to sure to pack each smoothie with lots of healthy protein and fiber, which helps bulk up the smoothie. Adding things like chia seeds, greek yogurt, peanut butter, tahini, protein powder, and even oats bulk up a smoothie with healthy nutrients like fiber, protein, and healthy fats.

Healthy Apple Pie Smoothie with Oats

This Apple Pie Smoothie includes some of my favorite smoothie mix ins as well as delicious apple pie flavors such as:

  • Oats: A nutrient powerhouse, oats are high in vitamins, fiber, prebiotics, and antioxidants.
  • Greek Yogurt: High in protein, probiotics, and calcium, greek yogurt adds creamy richness to any smoothie.
  • Unsweetened Apple Sauce: Apple sauce is a great way to get that real apple pie flavor without having to cook fresh apples.
  • Frozen Banana: Frozen banana adds creaminess plus it is a great source of potassium, vitamins, and anti inflammatory antioxidants.
  • Chia Seeds: An excellent source of protein and fiber, chia seeds can bulk up any smoothie to help keep you full longer.
  • Vanilla Protein Powder: Vanilla protein powder, gives that vanilla flavor with an extra boost of protein. I use my favorite plant based protein powder.
  • Spices: Cinnamon and apple pie spice give this Apple Pie Smoothie the traditional apple pie flavor. You can also substitute pumpkin pie spice for the apple spice if you don’t want to go out and buy a separate spice.
  • Oat Milk: Oat milk is my go to for adding to smoothies and tea, for its creamy plant based richness. But you can add your favorite milk or plant based milk.
