Ingredients

Strawberry Blood Orange Margaritas

  • 2 cups strawberry simple syrup (recipe below)
  • 1 cup lime juice (freshly squeezed)
  • 2 cups tequila
  • 750 ml blood orange Italian soda (about 3 cups)

Strawberry Simple Syrup

  • 2 cups water
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 cup strawberries (fresh or frozen)

Instructions

To make the simple syrup:

  • Add strawberries, water, and sugar to a pot, bring to boil, and simmer over low heat for 20 minutes. After the mixture has cooled slightly, strain out the strawberries using a fine mesh strainer. Be careful not to push the strawberries too much through the strainer or the mixture will be cloudy. Refrigerate until ready to use.

To make the Strawberry Blood Orange Margarita Pitcher:

  • Chill all ingredients before mixing. In a large pitcher, mix all ingredients, and stir gently to combine.
  • To serve, rim a tall glass with salt or sugar, if desired. Fill glass most of the way up with ice. Pour margaritas over ice.
